Delving in to the tension between our aspirations and the unpredictable currents of reality, visually, this work employs the metaphor of a video game to illustrate the complex web of choices we navigate daily, where each decision shapes our journey and subtly blurs the boundaries between the physical and digital realms.
The visual experience is anchored by a deeply personal, layered soundscape. To create this audio, the artist invited people from around the world to record, in their own languages, an enthusiastic, aspirational promise or goal that ultimately remained unrealized. These crowdsourced recordings were woven together into a complex auditory collage, echoing the mercurial and ephemeral nature of our lived reality.
In this immersive space, the weight of forgotten promises and the quiet echoes of untaken paths lingers, suspended in time. The artwork captures the fragile balance between hope and uncertainty, where unfulfilled dreams quietly reshape our present. Ultimately, it becomes a reflection on human resilience.
